About Mary L VanVliet
Mary VanVliet, an English teacher at Maple Hill High School in Schodack, has been with Prudential as a licensed realtor since 2005. Mrs. VanVliet resides with her two sons, Tim and Bryan, in the Maple Crest development in Castleton, New York. Mary grew up in the Mohawk Valley and settled in the Capital District after earning her B.A. and M.A. from SUNY at Albany. She taught in New Hartford, Central Square, and Averill Park before coming to Schodack to teach at Maple Hill High School in 1993. She has been a Schodack resident for over 25 years and has been actively involved in both school and community affairs. At the present time, Mary is advisor to the Senior class, coach of the Odyssey of the Mind team, a member of the Castleton Kiwanis, , Schodack Teacher's Association, and serves on the character education leadership board for Russell Sage College. Mrs. VanVliet had been in the teaching profession for over 35 years, and has been listed numerous times in "Who's Who of American Teachers."
